Are you interested in both? Why is Jazz important today? How did it influence Rock n’ Roll? Is Rock n’ Roll the same as Jazz? Who are all the jazz greats? Can you name one, two or three or none at all? If you know all, some or none of the answers to these questions have we got a treat for you.  Our very own exciting, entertaining, interactive and educational “Jazz for Kidz train. The Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train is proud to announce it’s first ever “Jazz for Kidz” series. Hop on board the famous Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train and get a whole lot more than lunch, a train ride and entertainment. Have fun while learning jazz basics and jazz improv and listening to our jazz officiando Mr. George Katsakis we call him Saxman! If your child plays an instrument we encourage him/her to bring it. If your child likes to sing we encourage them to warm up and be ready to show us what they’ve got! If your child doesn’t do either we encourage them to join us and learn. There is something for everyone and it is loads of fun. Of course we will all get to sit back enjoy the 40 years plus experience of jazz entertainment that Saxman performs but it won’t stop there. Each and every time and each and every ride we will highlight two different jazz greats like Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Winton Marsalis and more. Each and every ride there will be audience participation especially with the kids but adults can join in too. Each and every ride will be a progression of learning and jazz experiences that grow from the last ride. Each ride however will stand on it’s own. So, you can ride once or three times. It all depends on how much fun you can handle.  And maybe just maybe your child will be selected to perform with “Saxman”, on one of our Sunday Family Trains in the very near future.  All this happens while enjoying a ride on our select rail car and enjoying a special lunch prepared for you and your guests. Reservations are a necessity and reserve now so as not to miss out on this one-of-a-kind chance of a lifetime. We, at The Michigan Star Clipper Dinner train are dedicated to offering not just fine entertainment fine food and fine dining. But we are dedicated to education and our opportunity to share it with the public. Our Jazz series is just one of these opportunities. There are more like our “Kool Kat” Healthy Heart performance!
